These Official Rules govern every sweepstakes offered by Milligrams (each, a “Sweepstakes”). The participating stores, Sweepstakes Period, drawing date, prize, and Approximate Retail Value of each Sweepstakes are stated in the in-store and marketing materials for that Sweepstakes. If those materials conflict with these Official Rules on any other matter, these Official Rules control.
1. Sponsor
Each Sweepstakes is conducted at one or more of the following stores, as stated in the materials for that Sweepstakes (“Participating Stores”). Each Participating Store runs a separate drawing and is the sole sponsor of its own drawing (“Sponsor”):
- Milligrams Mt. Laurel — 813 E Gate Dr, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054
- Milligrams Greenpoint — 58 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Entries made at a Participating Store are entered only in that store’s drawing. Entries do not transfer between stores. Each Sponsor is responsible only for its own drawing.
2. Eligibility
The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of New Jersey or New York who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older at the time of entry. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required to enter and to claim a prize.
The following persons are not eligible to enter or win:
- Employees, contractors, directors, officers, members, and managers of either Sponsor, and of their parent companies, affiliates, and promotional agencies.
- Immediate family members (spouse, domestic partner, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and “step” relations) of those persons.
- Any person living in the same household as those persons, whether related or not.
The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The Mt. Laurel drawing is conducted in accordance with the rules of the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ CRC). The Greenpoint drawing is conducted in accordance with the New York Cannabis Law and the regulations of the New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM).
3. Agreement to Official Rules
Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the applicable Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes.
4. Sweepstakes Period
The start date, end date, and drawing date of each Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes Period”) are as stated in the in-store and marketing materials for that particular Sweepstakes. Each Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for its drawing.
5. How to Enter
There are two (2) ways to enter. Both methods have an equal chance of winning.
- Method 1 — Entry with Purchase (in store). An eligible person who makes a purchase of any amount at a Participating Store during the Sweepstakes Period receives one (1) entry in that store’s drawing.
- Method 2 — Free Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) (in store). To enter without a purchase, visit a Participating Store during business hours in the Sweepstakes Period and ask a staff member for a free entry slip. Present a valid 21+ ID. Complete the slip with your name, phone number, and email address and place it in the designated entry box. Free entries are entered in the same drawing and have the same chance of winning as entries with purchase.
6. Entry Limit
One (1) entry per person per Sweepstakes, regardless of entry method or number of purchases. An entrant who tries to obtain more than one entry (for example, by using multiple names, phone numbers, email addresses, or identities) will have all entries voided and may be disqualified. Incomplete, illegible, or duplicate entries are void.
7. Prizes and Approximate Retail Value
The prize for each Participating Store, and its Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”), is as stated in the in-store and marketing materials for that particular Sweepstakes. Prizes may differ by store.
The total ARV of all prizes offered in a single Sweepstakes will be less than $200 at the Mt. Laurel store and less than $5,000 at the Greenpoint store.
Prize restrictions. Under no circumstances will cannabis, cannabis products, or cannabis paraphernalia be awarded as a prize. Prizes are non-transferable. No cash or other substitution is permitted, except that a Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value at its sole discretion if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. Any difference between the ARV and actual value will not be awarded. Winners are responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize.
8. Odds
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received at the applicable Participating Store during the Sweepstakes Period.
9. Winner Selection and Notification
On the drawing date, each Sponsor will randomly select one (1) potential winner from all eligible entries received at its Participating Store during the Sweepstakes Period. The potential winner will be notified by phone and/or email using the contact information provided at entry.
The potential winner must respond within forty-eight (48) hours of the first contact attempt and claim the prize in person at the Participating Store within seven (7) days, with valid 21+ photo ID. If a potential winner cannot be reached, fails to respond or claim in time, is found ineligible, or does not comply with these rules, the prize is forfeited and the Sponsor may select an alternate winner at random from the remaining eligible entries. Each Sponsor may require a winner to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability release before the prize is awarded.
10. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s consent to the Sponsor’s use of the winner’s first name, last initial, and city of residence to announce the winner, without further compensation. Sponsors will not use a winner’s image or likeness without separate written consent.
11. Release and Limitation of Liability
By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless each Sponsor and its parent companies, affiliates, members, managers, officers, employees, and agents (“Released Parties”) from any and all claims, injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or illegible entries; for errors in the administration of the Sweepstakes; or for any event beyond their reasonable control.
12. General Conditions
Each Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify its drawing if fraud, technical failure, a change in law or regulation, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes. In that event, the Sponsor may award the prize from eligible entries received before the action. Each Sponsor may disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or acts in a disruptive manner.
13. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is used to administer the Sweepstakes and is handled in accordance with the Milligrams [Privacy Policy — link]. Entrants are not enrolled in marketing communications by entering, unless they separately opt in.
14. Disputes and Governing Law
Disputes about a Mt. Laurel drawing are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Disputes about a Greenpoint drawing are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Each entrant agrees that any dispute will be resolved individually, without resort to any class action, exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Burlington County, New Jersey or Kings County, New York, as applicable.
15. Winners List and Official Rules
For the name of a winner, or a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope within sixty (60) days of the applicable drawing to: Milligrams Sweepstakes Winners List, at the address of the applicable Participating Store. Specify the store and the Sweep
